The shop
Made To Last is a working tattoo studio: booked artists, walk-ins, aftercare and merch. It runs the way most respected shops run. The art comes first, and the back office gets whatever time is left.
That's how a processing statement goes unread for years. Cards get swiped, the deposit lands a little lighter than the tickets said, and nobody has a free afternoon to figure out why.
The problem
Made To Last was paying $4,500 to $5,500 a month in card processing fees. That's not a fee here and there. It's a standing monthly bill about the size of a second rent payment.
Over a year, that's $54,000 to $66,000 leaving the shop. And because the fees are a percentage of every sale, they grew right along with the business. The busier the chairs got, the bigger the bill.
The switch
The shop moved to Revify dual pricing. Every service has a cash price and a card price, posted at the counter and printed on every receipt. Clients choose how they pay, and the cost of card acceptance stays with the card transaction instead of coming out of the shop's margin.
Nothing at the counter got harder. Same tap-and-go, next-day funding, and the terminal is included. Revify handled the signage, receipts and terminal setup.
The result
Processing fees went to $0. On top of that, Revify now sends the shop an average of $1,125 a month in Monthly Cash-back.
The line item that used to cost about $5,000 a month now pays the shop. Together that's roughly $6,125 a month moving in the shop's direction, or about $73,500 a year.
What $73,500 a year means for a tattoo shop
It's not abstract. It's a new artist station and the build-out around it, or a booth at four or five conventions with travel covered. It's a real ad budget, an apprentice on payroll, or the owners finally paying themselves properly.
The money was always the shop's. Now it stays there.
