Best tattoo shop software for 2026

Best tattoo shop software?
Depends on your shop.

A plain buyer's guide: what matters first, then eight tools side by side, with prices checked October 1, 2026.

Buyer's guide 2026

How to pick the right software.

There is no single best tattoo shop software for every shop. What every shop shares is the work: clients book, pay a deposit, sign consent, sit for hours and pay the balance. The best software handles that work with the fewest extra apps and a monthly cost you can live with.

Below: the criteria, short neutral profiles of eight tools shops compare most often, and a summary table. We make InkedIn Tools and Revify Payments, so we list them first and say so plainly. Every competitor detail comes from that company's own public pages, checked October 1, 2026.

How we picked the best tattoo shop software

We looked at the jobs a tattoo shop does every day and asked how each tool handles them. We did not use review site scores. For deeper reading on two of the criteria, see tattoo deposits and tattoo consent forms.

The criteria

Six things to judge first.

Use these to compare any tattoo booking software.

DEPOSITS

Deposits at booking

Is the deposit charged when the client books?

CONSENT

Consent forms

Signed before the client sits and stored with the booking?

BOOKING

Online booking

Can clients book from Instagram and Google, for long sessions?

INBOX

Client messages

Do IG DMs, texts and email land in one place, tied to the client?

PAYMENTS

Payments

How do deposits and balances connect, and how fast is funding?

PRICE

Real monthly cost

The full cost for your team, with every add-on you need.

The profiles

Eight tools tattoo shops compare.

1. InkedIn Tools + Revify Payments (our pick for booking and payments working together)

We make these, so weigh our view with that in mind. InkedIn Tools is the booking app built by tattooers, now part of Revify.

It includes online booking from IG, Google and your site, automatic deposits at booking, digital consent forms, reference images stored with the booking, one inbox for IG DMs, Facebook, texts and email, reminders, aftercare and review requests, a website builder, a mobile app, and Google Calendar and QuickBooks sync.

It is $99 a month with every feature included and a 14-day free trial, and $0 a month when your shop processes at least $10,000 a month with Revify.

Revify Payments is $0 a month with dual pricing: you post a cash price and a card price, both show on every receipt, and the client chooses. Your shop earns up to 0.75% Monthly Cash-back on card sales.

You get a free terminal while you process with Revify, next-day funding and no long-term contract. With both, the deposit at booking and the balance at checkout run on the same system.

2. Porter

Porter is built for tattoo artists and studios and says it is trusted at 1,500+ studios. Per its pricing page, Artist Essentials is $35/mo and Artist Pro is $65/mo, both with a 30-day free trial.

Studio Pro is $250/mo for one location with unlimited artists and staff and a 14-day free trial. All tiers include booking and Porter Payments, and card rates are shown in-app. Studio Pro adds commission splits and 1099s. It fits multi-artist studios that want those tools in the same product.

3. Tattoo Studio Pro

Tattoo Studio Pro is made for tattoo and piercing studios. Plans are priced by team size, from Solo at $29/mo to Legion (up to 25) at $299/mo.

Every feature is on every plan, including consent forms with ID capture, unlimited SMS reminders, a walk-in queue and kiosk mode. Payments run through Stripe. It offers a 30-day free trial and no contracts. It fits studios with steady walk-in traffic.

4. TattooPro

It uses its own in-house processing at a flat 2.99% + 15¢, per its payments page. There is a 14-day free trial. It fits studios that want POS hardware and commissions from one vendor.

5. Vagaro

Vagaro serves salons, spas, fitness and tattoo studios, and has a tattoo shop software page. Per its pricing page, one location starts at $23.99/mo for one calendar as a promo for the first 6 months (regular $30), rising with each added calendar.

Forms are a $10/mo add-on, and online deposits use the Online Shopping Cart add-on at $10/mo. It fits shops that want a consumer marketplace alongside booking.

6. Square Appointments

Square Appointments is general-purpose scheduling for any appointment business. The Free plan is $0/mo per location, Plus is $49/mo and Premium is $149/mo, both with a 30-day free trial.

Payments run through Square at plan-based rates, starting at 2.6% + 15¢ in person on the Free plan. It fits shops that already use Square or want a $0 starting plan. See Revify vs Square.

7. InkDesk

InkDesk is tattoo booking software from Oakville, Ontario, for solo artists and studios. Solo is $35/mo, or $25/mo billed annually. Studio is $50/mo including the first artist, plus $15/mo for each extra artist.

It covers booking, deposits, waivers, an inbox and reminders, with payments through Stripe. It offers a 30-day free trial with no credit card required.

Who fits what

Match the software to your shop.

The best software for tattoo shops in 2026 depends on how your shop runs.

  • Solo artist booking from Instagram. Look at tools with a low solo price, a booking link and deposits on the base plan. InkedIn Tools, Tattoo Studio Pro Solo, InkDesk Solo and Porter Artist Essentials all aim here.
  • Multi-artist shop with a front desk. Look at shared calendars, a shared inbox and how pricing grows with each artist.
  • Shop that wants commission splits and 1099s. Porter Studio Pro and TattooPro Growth list commissions.
  • Shop already on Square. Square Appointments keeps your current setup. Read our Square alternatives for tattoo shops guide if you are weighing a switch.
  • Shop that wants booking and payments working together. InkedIn Tools with Revify Payments puts the deposit and the balance on the same system, and InkedIn Tools is $0 a month once you process $10,000 a month with Revify.
Payments

Why payments belong in the decision.

A tattoo studio software comparison is not complete without payments. The deposit is taken at booking, the balance at checkout, and both have to match up in your books.

Porter, TattooPro and Square build in their own payments. Tattoo Studio Pro and InkDesk use Stripe. Mangomint lets you bring your own processor, with some features needing Mangomint Payments.

Revify uses dual pricing, which is a different model from a flat per-swipe rate. Your shop posts a cash price and a card price. Both appear on every receipt, and the client chooses how to pay.

Revify sets up dual pricing to card-network rules and pays your shop up to 0.75% Monthly Cash-back on card sales. Estimate yours in the savings calculator, or see the full pricing page. Merchant accounts are subject to approval.

How much does tattoo shop software cost in 2026?

Published starting prices on October 1, 2026 ranged from $0/mo for Square's Free plan to $120/mo per location plus $10/mo per user for Mangomint. InkedIn Tools is $99 a month, or $0 a month when your shop processes at least $10,000 a month with Revify.

It varies. TattooPro states it does not support third-party processors, and Porter and Square build in their own payments. Tattoo Studio Pro and InkDesk use Stripe. InkedIn Tools works together with Revify Payments, which puts the deposit and the balance on the same system.

Why is InkedIn Tools listed first?
